In November, vehicle registrations in United Kingdom fell by 2.67% with respect to November of 2018. In total, 188,073 cars were registered and 2,547,453 new cars were sold in the last twelve months, 8.62% less than the year before.
The breakdown of car sales figures for the month of November is:
- Commercial vehicles sold: 31,452, 9.09% less than in November of 2018.
- Passenger cars regitrations: 156,621, which represents a figure of 1.27% less than in November of 2018.

As can be seen, the number of registrations per thousand residents has fallen in the last year. A drop in registrations generally indicates a fall in consumer confidence and, when it is sustained, a recession in the real economy.
