In 2016 Spain public debt was 1,106,952 million euros 1,225,285 million dollars, has increased 33,05833,800 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 99.4% of Spain GDP, a 0.4 percentage point fall from 2015, when it was 99.8% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Spain debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 392,168 million euros 492,406 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 38.9%.
According to the last data point published, Spain per capita debt in 2016 was 23,822 euros26,449 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 23,121 euros 25,666 dollars, afterwards rising by 701 euros783 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 8,757 euros11,099 dollars .
The position of Spain, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 169 in the list of debt to GDP and 169 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
