In 2016 Spain public debt was 1,105,627 million euros 1,223,818 million dollars, has increased 32,43833,115 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2015 reached 99.8% of Spain GDP, a 0.6 percentage point fall from 2014, when it was 100.4% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Spain debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 392,168 million euros 492,406 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 42.3%.
According to the last data point published, Spain per capita debt in 2016 was 23,793 euros25,791 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 23,106 euros 29,901 dollars, afterwards rising by 687 euros4,110 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 8,757 euros11,231 dollars .
The position of Spain, as compared with the rest of the world, has remained in 2015 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 169 in the list of debt to GDP and 167 in debt per capita, out of the 184 we publish.
