In 2016 Romania public debt was 66,249 million euros 73,331 million dollars, has increased 6,5507,095 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 39.2% of Romania GDP, a 1.3 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 37.9% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Romania debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 12,586 million euros 15,802 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 12.3%.
According to the last data point published, Romania per capita debt in 2016 was 3,353 euros3,710 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 3,021 euros 3,386 dollars, afterwards rising by 332 euros324 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 596 euros715 dollars .
The position of Romania, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 68 in the list of debt to GDP and 114 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
