In 2014 Libya public debt was 12,162 million euros 16,157 million dollars, has increased 10,31613,706 million since 2013.
This amount means that the debt in 2014 reached 36.39% of Libya GDP, a 32.68 percentage point rise from 2013, when it was 3.71% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Libya debt. It has risen since 2004 in global debt terms, when it was 1,104 million euros 1,374 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 4.16%.
According to the last data point published, Libya per capita debt in 2014 was 1,943 euros2,582 dollars per inhabitant. In 2013 it was 295 euros 391 dollars, afterwards rising by 1,648 euros2,191 dollars, and if we again check 2004 we can see that then the debt per person was 200 euros249 dollars .
The position of Libya, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2014 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 63 in the list of debt to GDP and 94 in debt per capita, out of the 184 we publish.
