In 2016 Cyprus public debt was 19,298 million euros 21,361 million dollars, has increased 334320 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 107.8% of Cyprus GDP, a 0.3 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 107.5% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Cyprus debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 9,505 million euros 11,934 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 58.7%.
According to the last data point published, Cyprus per capita debt in 2016 was 22,757 euros25,173 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 22,355 euros 24,838 dollars, afterwards rising by 402 euros335 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 12,541 euros16,112 dollars .
The position of Cyprus, as compared with the rest of the world, has improved in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 172 in the list of debt to GDP and 166 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
