In 2016 Bahamas public debt was 5,379 million euros 5,953 million dollars, has increased 300317 million since 2015.
This amount means that the debt in 2016 reached 66.92% of Bahamas GDP, a 2.41 percentage point rise from 2015, when it was 64.51% of GDP.
If we check the tables we can see the evolution of Bahamas debt. It has risen since 2006 in global debt terms, when it was 1,844 million euros 2,316 million dollars and also in terms of GDP percentage, when it amounted to 29.55%.
According to the last data point published, Bahamas per capita debt in 2016 was 13,688 euros15,148 dollars per inhabitant. In 2015 it was 13,090 euros 14,721 dollars, afterwards rising by 598 euros427 dollars, and if we again check 2006 we can see that then the debt per person was 5,606 euros7,157 dollars .
The position of Bahamas, as compared with the rest of the world, has worsened in 2016 in terms of GDP percentage. Currently it is country number 135 in the list of debt to GDP and 156 in debt per capita, out of the 185 we publish.
