HelpAge International is launching the Global AgeWatch Index, measuring the quality of life and well-being of older people are measured in four key domains: income security, health status, capability and enabling environment. This areas includes social pensions, accessible and appropriate healthcare, promote and support flexible working, life-long learning for older people and have a secure and supportive environment for people of all ages. The global population is getting older, in 2030, the proportion of people aged 60 and over, globally, is predicted to rise to 16.5 per cent. The world is not ready for it, according to an index by Global AgeWatch.
